What is Page Canary?

Page Canary is a website monitoring service. Every week it finds your site's critical flow, the main thing visitors come to do (book, get in touch, buy or sign up), and walks it like a customer, with a recording you can watch. Every day it checks up to 15 key pages, on desktop and mobile, for broken pages and links, JavaScript errors, broken images, mobile layout problems, error messages on the page, and SSL or domain expiry.

What is a critical flow, and is testing it safe?

It's the path that brings you customers: a booking widget, a contact form, a checkout or a signup. Page Canary works out which one matters on your site; you don't set anything up. It stops before anything is committed: it never books, buys, creates an account or types payment details. Contact forms are only sent once you ask for a test message from your dashboard, and it then asks whether you received it.

How is it different from an uptime monitor?

An uptime monitor checks that a URL responds. Page Canary loads your pages in a real browser and looks at what actually happens on them, so it catches problems on pages that are "up" but still broken for visitors.

How often is my site checked?

Your pages are checked every day and your critical flow is walked every week. When a problem shows up on two checks in a row, we email you with what's wrong and how to fix it. Serious problems, like the site being down, are re-checked within minutes.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Page Canary works from the outside, like a visitor. There's no code, plugin or script to add to your site.

Does it work with my website builder?

It works on any public website, including sites built with WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Webflow or custom code.

Can I monitor more than one site?

Yes. The free plan covers one site, Starter covers up to 5 sites and Pro covers unlimited sites, with more critical flows per site on paid plans. Agencies monitoring client sites can see the agency plans.

How much does it cost?

Monitoring one site is free, with no card needed. Paid plans are on the pricing section. You can also run a free scan first, with no signup at all.

How do I know a request came from Page Canary?
